The Digital County Initiative is a community led project designed to assist local groups to create and curate digital museums for each county in Ireland. The project grew out of the Roscommon3D project, and developed over a number of years.  Working closely with community groups it became evident that there was a call for digital heritage skills and the local management of heritage.   The project has been funded by local community groups with aid form The Heritage Council, and local Heritage Officers.
