Echoes of the Isles

Echoes of the Isles is an attempt to hear the islands properly, to pay attention to the spaces between stone and sea, to the silence that stretches across the Atlantic and folds around the monastic ruins, the graveyards, and the cross slabs. The project moves slowly, deliberately, like a boat navigating narrow channels. Digital scanners record the contours of ancient churches, artists draw the details of weathered carvings, and soundscapes capture wind in the reeds, birds arguing, and waves against granite..

This project was funded by the Heritage Council’s Heritage Strategy Fund 2025 and completed by Atlantic Technological University.
